Foreign Experts Give Lecture on International Intellectual Property & Patents at ASU
12.04.2018On April 11, 2018, Astrakhan State University hosted a seminar that involved two distinguished guests – Mr. Geoffrey Westgate, Head of the Support Section of PCT Translation Service of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and Mr. Henry Liu, the Honorary Advisor of the International Federation of Translators (FIT). Prof. Olga Egorova, Director of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting & Translation, moderated the meeting.
Mr. Liu already gave a lecture at ASU the other day. As for the World Intellectual Property Organization that Mr. Westgate represents, it is our official partner. In particular, our University trains qualified specialists to translate documentation related to patents.
In their speeches, the two distinguished guests concerned the theme of international cooperation to make new business and research contacts. On behalf of the WIPO, Mr. Westgate promised to provide all possible support to our students, researchers, and professors. In his turn, Mr. Liu strongly recommended that our people used any opportunity for their development.
