Students of ASU Learn about Financial Literacy
09.04.2018On April 09, 2018, Ms. Valentina Grechkina from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation gave a lecture whose theme was “Deposits & Deposit Insurance Agency” for students of non-economical specialties of Astrakhan State University.
The event took place as a part of the Week of Financial Literacy that was held in Astrakhan on April 09-14, 201; it was backed by Astrakhan Region’s Ministry of Finances and by the Russian Central Bank.
Ms. Grechkina told about the types of financial deposits and investments, as well as about the most efficient ways to control them. Our students learnt much about risks in this sphere; they found out how to protect their rights.
At the end of the meeting, Ms. Ekaterina Myastsova, an independent financial counsellor, a consultant for the Federal Ministry of Finances, and a co-organizer of the Week of Financial Literacy in Astrakhan, answered the audience’s questions. Having obtained real knowledge, the young people can now make sound financial decisions.
Let us remark that the Week of Financial Literacy has only begun in Astrakhan Region; other events are awaiting their participants: free-of-charge lectures, master classes, a book club in finances, intellectual games, as well as the Family Financial Festival to be held on April 14.
