Future Masters from Kazan to Study at ASU
29.03.2018Kazan Federal University and Astrakhan State University have signed a cooperation agreement.
As a result of the recent two-day visit of the delegation of ASU to Kazan Federal University, the two Rectors – Prof. Ilshat Gafurov (Rector of KFU) and Dr. Konstantin Markelov (Acting Rector of ASU) signed a cooperation agreement on March 27, 2018.
The signed agreement makes it possible for future masters studying at one of the two Universities to cover the educational programs “Theory of Translation & Interpretation: Intercultural / Interlingual Communication” and “Theory & Practice of Translation & Interpretation in Professional Communication” online, without having to leave for another city. Resources of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting & Translation are involved in online delivery of these two programs. The master course shall include virtual classes, three tests (initial, intermediate, and final testing), as well as practical training at the EU and UN institutions.
Prof. Gafurov remarked: “Astrakhan is a region that coordinates diplomatic relations with a number of Caspian countries; so it’s important for us to “enter” this region and exchange experience in various fields, including international relations”.
Dr. Markelov backed future cooperation, too: “Cooperation between our Universities should be versatile; it ought to include student exchanges, joint bachelor, specialist, and master programs, defenses of theses, and research activities in various areas (which would also imply application of our research facilities)”.
