International Projects

Astrakhan State University participates in the Association of Universities of Caspian Region States. We maintain broad international contacts: the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Goethe-Institut (Germany), the Peace Corps (USA), the Regional Center of French Language at the French Embassy to Russia, the Soros Fund Management LLC (USA), the University of Sydney (Australia), the National University of the Altiplano (Peru), the European Nature Heritage Fund – Euronatur (Germany), the Institut Néel CNRS (Grenoble, France), the International Center of Pedagogical Studies (Sèvres, France) – this list is far from being complete.

ASU has established cultural links with the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as with a number of Turkish universities. It has signed cooperation agreements with the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the University of Salento – F.L.S.L.E. (Lecce, Italy), with the L.U.S.E.F.E. University (Lecce, Italy), with the University of Guilan (Iran), with Stendhal University, Grenoble III (France), with the French-Russian Association of Educational Links, etc

We participate in a versatile large-scale international project to promote cooperation between universities of the European Union and the Caspian Sea Region; besides ASU, the project involves Pohjois-Savo Polytechnic (Finland), the Newman College of Higher Education (Birmingham, UK), the University of Malaga (Spain), the Fachhochschule Niederrhein (Krefeld, Germany), the Peter Sabroe Seminariet (Arhus, Denmark), and the Dekker v.d. Vert Academic Bookstore (Nijmegen, the Netherlands).
